Sweedish Massage is known for its benefits of relaxation, blood pressure regulation and reduction of cortisol levels. Massage & Bodywork have a deep history: preventative medicine, athletic training and even emergency medicine. Many martial art traditions have their own system of massage relating to these aspects of health. This is where I have chosen to devote my time to study and learn. Below I have elaborated on a few of my most utilized modalities.
Thai Massage touches on every system of the body: moving each joint, stimulating the organs, engaging the muscles, and encouraging deep relaxation and healing throughout.
The fascia, or connective tissue, is targeted to find trouble areas where elastisity has been reduced. Guided breathing, stretching of the fascia, and muscle activation with resistance are used to reopen these closed areas of the body.
A combination of deep joint stretching, trigger points, resistance and targeted pressure to improve range of motion, encourage fluid movement and relax tired muscles.
Drawn from the princpal of "fix what you break", these techniques are used to help restore the body after martial arts training. Held tension is gently released using the flat surface of the floor as a natural guide for the body.
A gentle modality, CST focuses on some of the more subtle movements of the body to help release hidden tension. Stillpoint and micro movements are used to work below the notice of the nervous system for profound results.
